Bridget Gray

Bridget Gray has been trailblazing on the spoken word scene since 1999 when she won the first slam she ever entered. In the following years she became a member of the Los Angeles and/ or Hollywood Slam Team 4 times and was a Grand Slam Champion 3 years in a row... However, her dynamic stage performance thought provoking lyrics and hypnotic flow started to transcend the slam arena.

In 2003 she was selected from over 400 MC's and poets to head up a 3 month long major nation wide tour sponsored by Nissan. On that tour she performed along side or opened for artists such as John Legend, Black Eyed Peas, Talib Kweli, and Erykah Badu, just to name a few.

In 2006 she embarked on a new venture, writing, producing, and starring in her first film. The narrative short "My Letter to Hip Hop" took top honors at the ELEVATE Film Festival, winning Best Narrative Short and naming Bridget Gray as Best Actress.

Over the years her collection of work has been featured on ABC's Eye On LA, BET's Lyric Cafe, ACLU's Freedom Files, the feature film Fighting Words, showcased by Norman Lear, published in 3 anthologies, added to textbooks and studied in classrooms from high schools to Universities such as UCLA, UC Irvine and Cal State San Marcos. She has also had several acting appearances including guest starring roles on CBS, UPN and Disney.
