Aneela Zaman

Born in Toronto, Canada of East Indian immigrants, Aneela began her career in Los Angeles as a celebrity make-up artist and founded Aneela Cosmetics for the International Woman of Color. She has worked as a make-up artist with talented actresses such as Allison Janney, Linda Carter, Nicollette Sheridan, and CC Pounder. Aneela has also worked with renowned photographers such as Charles Bush and Steve Shaw.

Aneela began her acting career in Toronto when she was working as a make-up artist and a director asked her to audition for his next project. She immediately began shooting commercials for Sprint Canada, Payless Shoes, Lysol, Pier 1 Imports, etc. She soon began work in film and television. She was recently cast as Louise in the feature film Jimmy Bones, produced and directed by Louis Mandylor (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, CSI, Martial Law, Friends).

Being of East Indian decent, discussions in her culture about women's bodies are often considered taboo. Aneela is proud to be part of the Vagina Monologues and is grateful for this opportunity to speak for the millions of "Middle Eastern" women who have been unable to have a voice of their own.
